Third Annual Hearts & Hands Together - a Huge Success Thanks to YOU!

The Matthews Free Medical Clinic hosted its Third Annual Hearts and Hands Together Dinner Auction on Saturday, November 5, at Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant in Southpark. The evening began with a cocktail hour and Silent Auction, and the event was attended by about 100 people. The spirit of giving was in the air as the attendees moved among the many silent auction items, bidding generously.

Jerry McGuire, Board President, and Dr. Lou Ann McAdams, Medical Director, talked about the Clinic's work and needs. A patient of the Clinic, Brenda, spoke about how the Clinic has helped her and her family.

A "family-style" dinner was served, and the Live Auction was conducted. Guest Auctioneer Larry Sprinkle of WCNC-TV NewsChannel36 had the audience laughing as he joked throughout the live auction process and encouraged the audience to bid big! The event raised $30,000 for the Clinic, an excellent result in these difficult financial times. Jerry McGuire, President of the Board of Directors of the Clinic, said, "We are truly grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, everyone attending tonight and all the volunteers who support the Clinic on a day-to-day basis."
